Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this slicer just before Christmas, it has worked Great. I slice my homemade bread, and meats that I roast (chicken breast, small beef roasts) into deli style for sandwiches. I also slice cheese with it, but it makes a terrible noise if the cheese it to soft. It works Great on all hard cheeses. I Love this machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my slicer I have had this unit for about 4 months now and use it for slicing salami, pepperoni, etc. But it's primary use is slicing up eye of round roast for making beef jerky every couple of weeks. Roast is normally frozen when I slice. I have had no issues. Works perfectly. It's as noisy as any other slicer. No different. The slices can be slightly uneven depending on your technique. Just remember, this is a countertop appliance, not commercial unit. Those cost 10 times what this costs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adequate. bought a couple years ago from a local sears, for what we paid it works. the blade does slow when going through large cuts of meat, and it is a pain to clean but no appliance is perfect. I have used it to slice up Christmas shank ham, big rolls of bologna and large cuts of deli meats with no major complications. though far from "professional" it is functional in my kitchen

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what is meant to... I bought this slicer to prepare shaved ham, roast and other sliced meats, like a deli would do, without the deli process. I often buy large bulk hams and need to slice them for luncheon meats for sandwiches. This does the job nicely. Cuts hams up to 10" in size, with a beautiful thickness adjustment to cut to your desired cut. Will cut paper thin or unto a 1/4'' thick. Reliably and quietly. This is not a $2000 slicer your butcher or commercial deli has but it cuts without seizing or other problems. It is a pain to clean after use as it must be taken apart to wash, but, all such cutters must be disassembled to be cleaned properly or you risk bad bacteria in your meats. When assembling together after washing, you must take care to do it properly as the blade fits on only one proper way - or it will slip and wobble. People who have issues with this cutter do not put it together properly after washing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ...ok for the price point I was given this food slicer as a present and was very pleased with it for the short term. The main problem appears to be in the construction of the gear that drives the slicing blade as it is made from what seems to be some sort of nylon/plastic and it wore down to the point that it can no longer slice. New parts are available from Cuisinart via this website for about $8.75 each. The problem with the slide binding can be addressed by applying canola cooking spray to the slide bar. Simply apply the canola oil cooking spray on to a paper towel and rub it onto the slide bar. This slicer may not be best for slicing cheese. Thick peameal bacon fat can also be difficult to slice. All and all, a fair product for the cost. However, the nylon/plastic drive gear issue is a bit of let down.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works but blade slips Bought this a few months ago, and though it works, it really does not do a good job. As others have noted, it can only cut light weight product without the nylon gears slipping. The grinding will wake the dead when it does. This was the most expensive, and solid looking unit I could find at the time, and it seems very poorly thought out. I would certainly appreciate any help that can be offered. Just had to nurse it through some sandwich meat, painfully.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meat: ok, Cheese: no way! I tested this unit for bulk meats and cheese: we're talking 3kg meat roasts and 2.27kg bricks of cheese. Meat slicing is acceptable, very noisy and slows slightly. Cheese slicing nearly stops the blade every time and if you go thinner than 6mm you get uneven slicing. Not useful for bulk slicing

  • Question & Answer

I have a Cuisinart meat slicer CFS 155C. I need to replace the two flat screws that hold the aluminum guide plate attaching it to the unit or thickness adjustment. Have looked at the web site but was unable to find them. Unit is useless without.

I bought the food slicer a couple of months ago to slice lunch meat. It was loud (no big deal), but now the blade comes to a grinding halt. This is my second use of the slicer. My guess is the gears don't match up cleanly. Is there a fix/recall for this?

I just read the manual. It says the slicing carriage is removable & when I push the release button it doesn't seem to release anything. Exactly what part is released? Is it just the SS plate? If so, what do I pull & in what direction?

    Asked by: Dawn
Hello Dawn, When you push the release button the carriage cover will remove. Once that has been done, simply lift up to remove. If you are still having difficulties removing it please contact our customer service team at 1-800-472-7606. Sorry for the delay. Best wishes, -Cuisinart Canada
