Frequently Asked Questions

This is potentially caused by incorrect temperature or time setting or rack placement. You may have to adjust the time and temperature to desired taste. Because your Convection Toaster Oven is smaller than your regular oven, it will heat up faster and generally cook in shorter periods of time.

Potentially caused by food buildup inside the oven, on heating elements or in crumb tray. To clean the toaster oven:

  • Turn the oven off, then unplug the unit and let it cool.
  • Wipe unit down with a damp cloth. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER. Make sure to use only mild, soapy water.
  • Remove crumb tray by pulling out from base of oven.
  • Shake off crumbs from crumb tray. Cleaning the crumb tray often will reduce any accumulation.
  • Wash the oven rack, baking pan, and crumb tray in hot, sudsy water. Oven crumb tray is located on inside bottom of oven. Note: these parts are NOT dishwasher safe. Please hand wash and dry

The unit may not be plugged in. Plug the unit into a 120-volt AC electrical outlet. Set to desired setting and press START/STOP. Both must be turned on to operate.

The function setting selection determines which heating element will operate. Check to see if Broil setting is selected, which turns on only the top element.

Heating elements will cycle on and off to maintain proper heat. Confirm Function setting is the one you selected.

It toasts the cut side of the bagel slightly more than the other side.

All materials that come in contact with food are BPA free.

You can use the Single Function which is used for just one slice.

The toaster Beeps when it’s finished.

The beeping sound can’t be turned off. It is a built-in feature to alert you “consumer” when a toaster is done.

All parts are top rack dishwasher safe.

  • Be sure the blade assembly is on the jar or cup correctly.
  • Be sure it is pushed all the way onto the base (travel and chopping cups lock into place)
  • Plug blender into an independent outlet.
  • Make sure blender is securely plugged in.
  • Check the outlet for power; try plugging into a different outlet.
  • Check your home’s circuit breaker.

The motor could have overheated. The resettable fuse, which protects the motor due to overloading, may have been tripped. When this happens, to reset the appliance unplug the unit and let it cool for a minimum of 15 minutes. Then, reduce the contents of the blender jar and/or clear any jams. Restart the unit as noted in the operating directions.

  • Run under water and tap on the edge of sink upside down to loosen the gasket.
  • Avoid hitting the blades which could cause damage.

The ingredients cause pressure, and with the airtight seal, pressure builds up creating a vacuum or a suction effect. This is normal.

  • Check rubber gasket. Make sure it’s flushed with blender assembly.
  • Make sure rubber gasket is properly in place.
  • Make sure rubber gasket is not damaged.
  • Make sure jar blade assembly is tight.

Yes, the kneading paddle is removable.

After mixing/kneading is complete, there will be an audible signal of 10 short beeps before the last rise cycle, indicating the point at which the mixing/kneading is complete. At this point, you have the option of removing the kneading paddle, and/or re-shaping the dough, though neither is necessary.

Yes, using the Commercial Steam Wand (refer to the instruction booklet for cappuccino instructions)

Cleaning the steam wand

  • The steam wand should always be cleaned after steaming milk.
  • Wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth, then with the steam wand directed back into the drip tray, momentarily set the function knob to the hot water setting. This will release any remaining milk from inside the steam wand.
  • Ensure the large function knob is in the off position. Press the power button off, unplug the power cord and allow the machine to cool.
  • If the steam wand remains blocked, use a cleaning pin to clear the opening.

Decalcification

  • Fill the water reservoir with white vinegar (decalcifying agent)
  • Be sure the power button is in the off position, and the unit is unplugged.
  • Remove the portafilter holder.
  • Pour the decalcifying agent into the water reservoir, plug the machine back in, and power the unit back on
  • Set the power button to on and the large function knob to the off position.
  • Place a large container under the brew head and steam wand.
  • When brewing temperature is reached, the heating light will switch off.
  • Set the large function knob to the espresso position and let half of the solution run through the brew head.
  • Set the large function knob to the espresso position and let half of the solution run through the brew head.
  • Set the large function knob to steam position and allow the remaining solution to run through the steam wand.
  • When the solution stops running, set the large function knob back to the off position.
  • After decalcifying, let one cycle of fresh cold water through the unit before using the unit again to brew coffee.

All materials that come in contact with food or liquid are BPA free.

  • The ingredients should be cut evenly into ½ to 1-inch (1.25 to 2.5 cm) pieces before processing.
  • Process in batches to avoid overloading.

  • Place evenly cut food into the feed tube.
  • Apply even pressure on the pusher.

Large feed tube must be packed full for best results. If processing smaller quantities, use the small feed tube.

It is normal for small pieces to remain; cut remaining bits by hand and add to processed ingredients.

  • Amount of dough may exceed maximum capacity of your food processor. Remove half and process in two batches.
  • Dough may be too wet. If motor speeds up, continue processing. If not, add more flour, 1 tablespoon (15 mL) at a time, until the motor speeds up. Process until dough cleans the sides of the work bowl.

Always start the food processor before adding liquid. Add liquid in a slow, steady stream, allowing the dry ingredients to absorb it. If too much liquid is added, wait until ingredients in the work bowl have mixed, then add remaining liquid slowly (do not turn off the machine). Pour liquid onto dough as it passes under feed tube opening; do not pour liquid directly onto bottom of the work bowl.

  • Blade may not have been pushed down into the lock position before starting process.
  • Excessively sticky dough can cause blade to rise. Reinsert blade and immediately add 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of flour through the feed tube while the machine is running.

The pusher lock feature, located above the handle, should be pulled out (some vibration is normal).

  • Amount of dough may exceed maximum capacity of your food processor. Remove half and process in two batches.
  • Dough may be too dry.
  • Dough may be too wet.

Stop machine, carefully remove dough, divide it into 3 pieces and redistribute them evenly in the work bowl.

Divide dough into 2 or 3 pieces and redistribute evenly in bowl. Process 10 seconds or until uniformly soft and pliable

While machine is running, add water, 1 tablespoon (15 mL) at a time, until dough cleans inside the bowl.

While machine is running, add flour, 1 tablespoon (15 mL) at a time, until dough cleans the inside of the bowl.

  • There is a safety interlock to prevent the motor from starting if it is not properly assembled. Make sure the work bowl and work bowl cover are securely locked into position.
  • If you are slicing or shredding and the above solution does not work, make sure that the food contents in the feed tube are cut below the maximum fill line so that the activation rod can engage the motor.
  • If the motor still will not start, check the power cord and outlet.

  • The cover may have become unlocked; check to make sure it I securely in position.
  • A safety protector in the motor prevents the motor from overheating, which is caused by excessive strain. Press the off-control button and wait 10 to 15 minutes to allow the food processor to cool off before resuming.

The back of the cover becoming unlatched, and any related noise, will not prevent the unit from working. Simply push down to lock the back into position.

  • This is normal as some heavier loads (e.g., slicing/shredding cheese) may require the motor to work harder. Simply reposition the food in the feed tube and try again.
  • The maximum load capacity may have been exceeded. Remove some of the ingredients and continue processing.

These innovative blades have been designed to lock in the work bowl to prevent them from falling out when emptying the contents of the bowl. Using extreme care, use a little extra force to remove the blade.

  • Make sure the rubber feet at the bottom of the unit are clean and dry. Also make sure that the maximum load capacity is not being exceeded.
  • This is normal as some heavier loads (e.g., slicing/shredding cheese) may require the motor to work harder.

The pusher lock feature, located above the handle, should be pulled out.

The plates are removable and reversible. They are nonstick and dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.

Yes. The instruction manual includes a variety of recipes.

You can use any kind of milk, including whole milk, 2%, 1%, nonfat, pasteurized, homogenized, organic, raw, cow, goat, soybean, and more. Fuller-fat milks produce thicker yogurts.

Yogurt can be fermented from a purchased culture or from yogurt that is either store bought or homemade with a reusable culture.

Different cultures can be found in health stores or specialty food stores. They can also be purchased from different sources online.

  • Different cultures yield different results, with some producing thinner yogurts than others.
  • Fermentation may not have been long enough. More time can always be added to an under-cultured yogurt.
  • Culture was damaged.

  • Increase the fat content of the milk used in the recipe.
  • Strain the finished yogurt using cheese cloth until desired consistency is achieve.
  • Heat the milk prior to adding to the yogurt maker.
  • Adding dry milk powder or other thickening agents such as gelatin or cornstarch can help thicken the yogurt.

  • Yogurt has been over-fermented. Reduce fermentation time and begin checking yogurt on the earlier side of the recommended time range.
  • Culture was damaged.

  • Separation is a sign that your culture has died. Exposure to temperatures over 100 °F (40 °C) can cause this.
  • Contamination can also cause the culture to die. Be sure that when you clean your yogurt container that no food particles or soap are left behind.

Yes, this is whey. Some separation is fine and is a natural occurrence within the culture process.

We recommend waiting until 6 hours after the cooling process has begun before adding flavors. Flavors can also be added to individual portions as needed instead of to the entire branch.

  • The safety bar is not engaged.
  • Press On/Off button to start juicing.

  • Make sure the spout is opened all the way.
  • Excess pulp in mesh filter basket can slow juice rate. Stop the juice extractor and clean filter basket.

Place them between other ingredients.

Make sure the spout is closed all the way.

Make sure the mesh filter basket/blade is in place.

We recommend that the microwave feet not be removed.

The max fill for steeping tea is 1 L. if you are not using the steeping assembly the max fill is 1.2L

Several variables can affect heat-up time, including room temperature, how much water is in the kettle and the temperature of the water.

The strength of your steeped tea is affected by the ratio of water to leaves, as well as the length of time the leaves are steeped. The more leaves, the stronger the results. The more steeping time, the stronger the result.

  • Do not immerse or put the base of unit or kettle in the dishwasher. Clean the base with a clean damp cloth. Rinse the kettle or wash with warm soapy water.
  • The steeping assembly and lid are top-rack dishwasher safe.
