Ingrédients
½ pound ground turkey ¼ pound turkey sausage ½ cup fresh breadcrumbs ⅓ cup chopped onion ⅓ cup chopped parsley ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 large egg, beaten 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced ½ teaspoon kosher salt ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1½ teaspoons extra virgin olive oil 12 ounces pasta
Preparation
In a large bowl, stir together the ground turkey, turkey sausage, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, Parmesan, egg, garlic, salt and pepper. Shape into 1½-inch meatballs. Preheat Cuisinart™ Electric Skillet to 300°; add olive oil and spread with the back of a spoon to evenly coat Skillet; add meatballs. Cook for 8-10 minutes, turning every minute or so until all sides are nicely browned. Remove from pan and set aside while making tomato sauce. When ready to serve, add meatballs to simmering tomato sauce; cook for 3 minutes or until completely heated through. Cook pasta al dente according to package directions; drain, saving ½ cup cooking water. Toss pasta with ½ of the sauce and ½ cup pasta water. Top with remaining sauce and meatballs. Serve with Rustic Tomato Sauce (recipe listed under Sauces and Dressings).
