Makes about twenty 1-ounce servings
Ingredients
- 2-1/2 pounds apples (golden delicious), approximately 6 medium apples, peeled, cored and cubed
Instructions
- Place apple cubes in a steamer basket to fit a 3- to 4-quart saucepan filled with one inch of water (or unsweetened apple juice). Place a tight fitting lid on pan and place over high heat. When liquid comes to a boil turn heat down to medium. Steam fruit for 15 minutes, until extremely soft.
- Place steamed fruit in the work bowl of Cuisinart® food processor fitted with metal chopping blade. Process for 15 to 20 seconds. Scrape work bowl. Process for 10 more seconds.
- Allow mixture to cool. Store in refrigerator in airtight container for up to 4 days or fill ice cube trays or other containers to freeze.
