CUISINART INTRODUCES FIRST ELECTRIC SKILLET

ELECTRIC SKILLET

Toronto, ON — Cuisinart will bring a new standard to countertop cooking this February with the introduction of Cuisinart’s first electric skillet. With an extra large 12” x 15” non-stick oval cooking surface, this skillet can handle family sized orders of hash browns, or even veal parmesan. This new appliance is packed with a variety of features that enable home chefs to consistently prepare healthy, great-tasting food with hassle-free cleanup.

“It is like having an extra stove but with the convenience of portability and a non stick surface,” says Michael Santucci, Product Manager for Cuisinart Canada. “Consumers will appreciate the skillet’s ability to cook a variety of foods using numerous cooking techniques, from roasting and frying to braising and stewing. With the generous cooking surface and deep interior, the skillet is ideal for fried foods where heating the oil to the proper temperature is critical.”

Cuisinart’s new Electric Skillet is designed for use as both cookware and serveware. With 1500 watts of power and an adjustable temperature control dial that ranges from Warm to 450°F, an unlimited number of recipes can be created. Traditional dishes like chicken cacciatore and pork chops are as simple to prepare as such ethnic specialties as seafood paella and osso buco.

An adjustable thermostat ensures that temperatures remain consistent: high temperatures remain high so that dishes like stir-fry chicken remain crisp, yet fully cooked; low temperatures stay low so that delicate items such as scrambled eggs and cream-based sauces don’t scorch. An indicator light turns off when the desired temperature is reached. Home chefs will also appreciate the skillet’s non-stick cooking surface, which allows them to prepare recipes with a minimal amount of added fat.

Besides being a multi-purpose cooking surface, Cuisinart’s Electric Skillet also makes an attractive serving piece. With contemporary brushed stainless steel design, cast steel handles and protective rubber feet, this skillet can easily transfer to the kitchen table.

The Cuisinart Electric Skillet has a tempered glass cover with a stainless steel rim. Both the lid and skillet are fully immersable and dishwasher safe once the temperature probe is removed, for fast and easy cleanup. The product comes with an instruction book featuring more than 30 recipes and is backed by a limited three-year warranty.
