Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still needs one feature improved.... We have had two of these machines now. We love the grinder (burr). We did a lot of research before finding and buying this machine. However we still have one complaint that they need to fix on this machine. We have had the bean hopper break on us 3 times now, and let me tell you that it is frustrating, time consuming and costly to keep replacing time and again. The need to replace the fixtures with metal not plastic!!!! The plastic pieces keep snapping when you lock and unlock the hopper to remove it and clean the machine out, the beans get in the way and "snap"! The next thing you know you are on this site.... :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid workhorse We've owned this machine for 5 years and use it daily, sometime several batches. Works like a champ. The key I believe is to clean out the chute, the bottom of the hopper, and the top ring of the burr grinder after every hopper load. We use a plastic tool that looks like a hockey stick from a previous grinder to clean out the chute. Had to replace the rotating disk on top of the basket once, no problem getting parts on line. The grinder is loud, but when set for a programmed time in the morning helps wake me up. That, and the delicious aroma of fresh ground coffee wafting through the house...

We have had this coffee maker for about 8 years - we use it everyday of the week - it's also gone through several adult parties as we like to entertain and have a large family and a few teenage kids parties and after prom parties where it's probably made 8 pots of coffee in a row without fail. It faithfully woke my daughter up at 6:30 every morning as she slept on the main floor :) That was her only complaint - the noise it made. However, the lovely fresh brewed coffee highly outweighs the noise. You'll need to make a few pots of coffee with it before you get the right strength control. But when you get it to where you like it, you'll never go back to a regular coffee maker. You'll also want to play around with different types of coffee. We are pretty particular and this coffee maker has not let us down no matter the type. My husband and I will never buy another type! Best ever.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No Longer Happy We had one of these units for aprox 8 years and used it everyday. I made a mistake of trying to clean it out with CLR and it caused a leak so had to buy a new one. SAME one of course. This new one is terrible. The chute has to be cleaned out for every use as it get plugged up unlike the first one which was not often. The WORSE problem is that this one randomly leaks half or more of the coffee onto the counter-top causing a huge mess and NO COFFEE. After 8 years of using the other one no-one can say we don't know how to use it. This one is clearly a faulty machine or they have changed the design somewhere I would no longer recommend this product. I have had enough and will be looking into a new one (different brand though I'm sure)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Unit We brought thru Air Miles approx. 5 years ago and have been very please with the way it has been operating all these years every day. Yes it requires cleaning of the chute, but no big deal as far as I was concerned. Now we purchased a new single serving unit the SS - 700C, because I`m the only one drinking coffee during the week days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suggestions for a Great machine............ Overall, we are very pleased with the machine but would suggest redesigning the pouring spout of the carafe. It is impossible to pour out the last 2 cups without leaving a mess on the kitchen counter. The coffee cools down very quickly and would stay hot much longer if the carafe were glass lined.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functionally great but.... I stopped using the grind feature for approx 6 months. Now that I want to go back to it, I cannot extract the grind unit to wash it. Therefore, I cannot continue to use the grind feature until it can be extracted. Argh!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The portion control isn't working.  When I select 2, 3, 4, 5, …cups it still perks 12 cups of coffee.  Any fix to this?

can this unit be plumbed in?  if not, is there another similar that can?

When I am ready to make the coffee and push the start button nothing happens. What could be the problem ?

Our grind and brew coffee machine has lately started to leak about half of the contents onto the counter. I'm not sure if the carafe has to be sitting in a particular position for this not to happen. Any suggestions?

We have had the coffee maker for several years but it has recently stopped brewing after grinding the beans, we have to grind them first then select the grind off and start it again to get it to brew.

I just bought this coffee maker a month ago, the one problem is it doesn't get the coffee hot, after its done brewing we have to warm it in the microwave, its just lukewarm. Help!

The grind on/off light is blinking - what does this mean? The coffee maker still grinds successfully and makes a full pot of coffee. I clean the chute and grounds every day, and unplugged the unit to no avail.
