Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still needs one feature improved.... We have had two of these machines now. We love the grinder (burr). We did a lot of research before finding and buying this machine. However we still have one complaint that they need to fix on this machine. We have had the bean hopper break on us 3 times now, and let me tell you that it is frustrating, time consuming and costly to keep replacing time and again. The need to replace the fixtures with metal not plastic!!!! The plastic pieces keep snapping when you lock and unlock the hopper to remove it and clean the machine out, the beans get in the way and "snap"! The next thing you know you are on this site.... :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No Longer Happy We had one of these units for aprox 8 years and used it everyday. I made a mistake of trying to clean it out with CLR and it caused a leak so had to buy a new one. SAME one of course. This new one is terrible. The chute has to be cleaned out for every use as it get plugged up unlike the first one which was not often. The WORSE problem is that this one randomly leaks half or more of the coffee onto the counter-top causing a huge mess and NO COFFEE. After 8 years of using the other one no-one can say we don't know how to use it. This one is clearly a faulty machine or they have changed the design somewhere I would no longer recommend this product. I have had enough and will be looking into a new one (different brand though I'm sure)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coffee maker This coffee maker has been making great coffee for us since 2008. We have had no problems with it whatsoever. The coffee tastes delicious and fresh because the beans don't get ground until you use it; and the thermal carafe keeps it tasting fresh, because the coffee stays hot without getting baked. You definitely should try to keep the chute clean. Every time we fill the grinder, or every other time, depending on how oily the coffee beans are, we pull off the coffee bean bin, and brush out the chute. The grounds from oilier (darker) beans really stick together sometimes and I think if we didn't do that, the grounds would tend to compact and cause problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid workhorse We've owned this machine for 5 years and use it daily, sometime several batches. Works like a champ. The key I believe is to clean out the chute, the bottom of the hopper, and the top ring of the burr grinder after every hopper load. We use a plastic tool that looks like a hockey stick from a previous grinder to clean out the chute. Had to replace the rotating disk on top of the basket once, no problem getting parts on line. The grinder is loud, but when set for a programmed time in the morning helps wake me up. That, and the delicious aroma of fresh ground coffee wafting through the house...

We have had this coffee maker for about 8 years - we use it everyday of the week - it's also gone through several adult parties as we like to entertain and have a large family and a few teenage kids parties and after prom parties where it's probably made 8 pots of coffee in a row without fail. It faithfully woke my daughter up at 6:30 every morning as she slept on the main floor :) That was her only complaint - the noise it made. However, the lovely fresh brewed coffee highly outweighs the noise. You'll need to make a few pots of coffee with it before you get the right strength control. But when you get it to where you like it, you'll never go back to a regular coffee maker. You'll also want to play around with different types of coffee. We are pretty particular and this coffee maker has not let us down no matter the type. My husband and I will never buy another type! Best ever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suggestions for a Great machine............ Overall, we are very pleased with the machine but would suggest redesigning the pouring spout of the carafe. It is impossible to pour out the last 2 cups without leaving a mess on the kitchen counter. The coffee cools down very quickly and would stay hot much longer if the carafe were glass lined.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Makes the best coffee...until it doesn't I had this coffee maker for about 2 1/2 years. Its integrated hopper means you add the beans once a week and you're ready to go. The burr grinder releases amazing flavour, but you have to be very careful not to let water go into the grinder when you are filling the reservoir, a design flaw. Sadly, the front-facing door that holds the filter stopped started opening in mid-brew and eventually would no longer remain shut, so we had to throw it out. Maybe that was just bad luck... I may still buy it again, the taste was unbeatable.

Coffee brewed into the thermal carafe is not very hot & we have to microwave it before drinking.  We have tried using a Cuisinart glass carafe but the heating element on the bottom doesn't heat for very long.  Is this normal or is our machine defective?

I have been very happy with this product for the past year. However it has started leaking coffee all over the counter about half way through an 8 cup brew. The lid doesn't seem to be able to drain the coffee through quick enough.

Why does this coffee maker only make 8 cups of coffee when it suppose make 12

Hi Joy oh, The instruction booklet states the following: The Fully Automatic Burr Grind & Brewâ„¢ Thermal Coffeemaker makes up to twelve (12) 5-ounce (148 ml) cups of coffee. The portion control isn't working.  When I select 2, 3, 4, 5, …cups it still perks 12 cups of coffee.  Any fix to this?
