    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best automatic ever! I took a chance and got this about 5 years ago, I work early shift and having good coffee at 4 am is a must.(Shops don't open til 5). Never had a problem , use it every day , had to replace the hopper assembly as the plastic degraded and shattered. But as you can order the parts online, no worries! Cleaning the chute regularly is a must, I use a small paintbrush , works very well. I also clean my hopper/grinder by running dry white rice through once a month, cleans all the oils and debris out nicely.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm enjoying my coffee. I must say that mine has worked very well, up to this point. I was also a little nervous because several reviews on other sites commented about really weak coffee. I like my coffee fairly strong; I normally drink dark roast, so I set it to the dark setting, and it came out as strong as the strongest Starbucks I have ever had. So I dialled it back to medium for myself and mild when serving guests and family. Some reviewers on other sites had mentioned weak coffee due to the water not being heated to the optimal 200 degrees Fahrenheit range. I figured the easiest way around that was a to get the water from the tap slightly warm to start with to provide the needed boost for the heating element. That seems to have been working very well for me. The other factor that may have been a problem for people commenting about a weak pot of coffee may have been inadequate cleaning. The instructions call for daily cleaning, but I have only cleaned the interior of the coffee grinding chamber when the 1/2 pound coffee bean hopper is empty. When I remove the coffee hopper to open the chute underneath for cleaning, there is always an accumulation of very finely ground coffee that plugs up about 1/3 of the coffee grounds chute. I suspect that if a person has not cleaned this area, the accumulations could eventually prevent enough coffee grounds from getting into the coffee filter below. My climate is really dry here in the prairies, so my coffee beans are also really dry which is ideal for proper grinding. I suspect that if you live in a damp climate and don't have the coffee beans in a well sealed dry container, the dampness will create much more buildup of fine accumulations, blocking the coffee grinder chute, so diligent cleaning would be really important. It really is not a big job to clean. The only complaint is one that several others have observed, about needing to turn the pot virtually upside down to get the last few cups of coffee out of the pot. Not a big deal I guess; it is what it is, but I would think the engineer designers should consider an improvement on that issue.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coffee maker This coffee maker has been making great coffee for us since 2008. We have had no problems with it whatsoever. The coffee tastes delicious and fresh because the beans don't get ground until you use it; and the thermal carafe keeps it tasting fresh, because the coffee stays hot without getting baked. You definitely should try to keep the chute clean. Every time we fill the grinder, or every other time, depending on how oily the coffee beans are, we pull off the coffee bean bin, and brush out the chute. The grounds from oilier (darker) beans really stick together sometimes and I think if we didn't do that, the grounds would tend to compact and cause problems.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent machine! We are very pleased with this particular model vs the older version. They've done a good job of completely separating the water reservoir from the grinder so there is no build up of grounds due to moisture or condensation. I had received another one that we barely used but stopped drawing water, still under warranty. I simply returned to to the manufacturer without any hassle was replaced. Well done & highly recommended.

I clean it out everytime I fill the hopper with beans and it never takes more then 5-10 minutes. I read all the reviews and took a chance anyways... I'm sure glad I did.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid workhorse We've owned this machine for 5 years and use it daily, sometime several batches. Works like a champ. The key I believe is to clean out the chute, the bottom of the hopper, and the top ring of the burr grinder after every hopper load. We use a plastic tool that looks like a hockey stick from a previous grinder to clean out the chute. Had to replace the rotating disk on top of the basket once, no problem getting parts on line. The grinder is loud, but when set for a programmed time in the morning helps wake me up. That, and the delicious aroma of fresh ground coffee wafting through the house...

    I have recently noticed my machine has water pooled under it, it does not occur after a brew cycle, the water is clean.  Is it possible to replace the hoses?  I assume this is the issue.  I descale my machine every 3 months.
